Brett and I met on New Year’s Eve 2012/2013. I noticed him when my best friend and I walked into Anchutz bar. My best friend had to convince me to go out that night. Brett was with a friend and for some reason they decided to go to Anchutz also. I had told Jaime that I thought Brett was good looking and she had told me no because she’d known his friend. Well I kept my eye on him for a while and I told Jaime I wanted a midnight kiss from him and another couple we were with they had heard and went over and told him. Well apparently, Brett was normally shy. But for some reason he came over and at midnight gave me kiss we talked and hung out till the bar closed. We still wanted to talk and hang out so a few of us decided to go back to my house. A few hours went by and everyone had left except Brett. We talked awhile. We had exchanged numbers and Brett had left. I never thought I would hear from him again. Well I messaged him, and we talked for a while and then we went to brunch and that was it. We talked every day and seen each other almost every day. We stayed with each other a lot. A couple months go by and I accidentally told him I loved him. I felt it a lot sooner but never wanted to express it, well it slipped, and he didn’t know what to say. I later told him I didn’t mean to say it then and he said it was ok. Well then, we were cuddling, and he had written it on my back with his finger and then I knew I was in it forever. After 6 months of staying at each other’s houses we decided it would make more sense if we had moved into together, so we did. It felt so right. And shortly after a year I was starting to put the pressure on him for a ring. We had gone on vacations and vacations and no ring then we found out we were going to have a baby we were both very excited even though it was not planned we were excited and then I started putting more pressure on him for a ring still nothing, yes I was impatient. Well we both really like lighthouses and one day I was looking at light house tours and I told him about it and he said he wanted to go so we left our son for the first time for more than 1 night and I should have recognized the signs because he asked if I was going to get my nails done and I said no I haven’t had my nails done in a long time I’m not going to start now. Well then, I called him while I was at work and it went to voicemail which wasn’t abnormal because our son got cranky and he couldn’t answer or they both were taking naps. Well then we left on Monday and I told him I wanted to see the Mackinaw bridge all bright at night because I hadn’t before, so we waited till it was dark and went and found a spot and watched the bridge and he asked jokingly about waiting for him and I told him I would always wait for him. He turned me around and got down on his knee and asked me if I would marry him and I said yes! I cried I was SOOO surprised and happy. I was finally going to marry this man, my best friend, the man that gave me a son and then that Friday I found out we were going to have baby #2. Shortly after we decided October 12, 2019 to say I do.
